Gutter Rainbows.
Talib Kweli has released his fifth solo album! Apparently it’s only available digitally and you can purchase the Deluxe version through iTunes for $11.99. I am still debating on doing so. Currently listening to a number of tracks on YouTube to see if it’s worth my $11.99. Take a peek and see what you think.
Midas Madlibs.
I love the Columbus Hip Hop scene. There is a lot of talent in this city. I met The Midas Touch about 6 months ago. The first show of his I went to was at Scarlet and Gray on a random weekday. I liked what I heard and started listening to his music online. I attended a cd release party at Skully’s and became even more intrigued by his lyrical talents. He is good. I began following him on Facebook and came across one of his most recent posts titled, Midas Madlibs. He is given random words not known beforehand and has to rhyme them with the beat going on in the background. Take a peek :

Food, wine and girl time.
Hadn’t hung out with a few of my favorite girlfriends in a while so we planned a dinner and wine date. There were a few stragglers that showed up as well, boyfriends. I came up with the idea of making wedge salads from a previous conversation with my best friend who had made one for the first time with her husband a few weeks prior. We knew the boys would end up coming too, so a meat of some sort had to be included as well, Anderson’s filet mignon. After all was said and done we ended up with a wedge salad that included hard boiled egg and bacon bits, shredded cheese, onions and a delicious blue cheese dressing. Along with the salad there was a nice sized filet mignon, homemade mashed potatoes and asparagus. We ate like kings and queens.
After all was said and done, we busted out the wine, Stella and desserts. Hands down was one of the best Monday nights I have had in a very long time. I have the best friends anyone could ask for.
